A dark mode palette is more than black and white. Each palette here follows the same structure: a near-black page background, a slightly lighter surface for cards, a border or raised-surface color, a light text color and one accent. Using dark grays instead of pure black reduces glare and lets you show depth by making raised surfaces lighter.

Contrast still matters in the dark. Light text on the background should reach at least 4.5:1, and the accent should be a lighter, less saturated version of your brand color, since fully saturated colors vibrate on dark backgrounds. Test the accent as both text and button fill, because a color that works as a link may need dark text when it becomes a button.
