Warm Color Palettes

About warm palettes

Warm colors sit on the red, orange and yellow side of the color wheel, along with the browns, corals and golds made from them. They tend to feel energetic, inviting and close, which is why restaurants, food brands, sales banners and calls to action so often use them.

Warm palettes are easy to overdo. Pair the strongest warm color with softer tints and a deep warm neutral, such as espresso, burgundy or charcoal with a brown undertone, for text. For interfaces, red-leaning colors can be confused with error states, so keep a clearly different color, or an icon, for warnings and errors.
